2-Day Highlights of Iceland Tour Package | Intro to the Land of Ice and Fire

Day 1: South Coast Exploration

Begin your journey with visits to Seljalandsfoss and Gljúfrabúi Waterfalls. At Seljalandsfoss, you have the opportunity to walk behind the waterfall, weather permitting, for a unique perspective. Just a short walk away, Gljúfrabúi offers a hidden gem partially obscured by a cliff.

Next, head to Skógafoss Waterfall, where the powerful flow creates a mist that often results in rainbows on sunny days. You can climb the stairs to the top for a panoramic view or stay at the base to feel the power of the cascading water.

Continue to Sólheimajökull Glacier and lagoon, an expanse of ice and volcanic ash. From the viewing platform, visitors can observe the glacier's crevasses, providing a glimpse into the dynamic nature of Iceland's geology.

Next we will pay a visit at Dyrhólaey to experience dramatic cliffs and panoramic views of Iceland's South Coast. During the summer, you can also observe puffin colonies nesting in the area.

Visit Reynisfjara Black Beach, known for its basalt columns and powerful Atlantic waves. The beach offers a striking contrast to the other landscapes you will encounter, with its black sand and dramatic sea stacks.

This day provides a thorough exploration of Iceland's South Coast, blending waterfalls, glaciers, and coastal landscapes.

After exploring the incredible attractions on Iceland's South Coast, you will arrive in Hveragerði, a town known for its vibrant geothermal activity.

Pack your swimwear and end your day in the famous Icelandic geothermal pools. Hot tubs are located at or near your hotel, and entrance is included.

Day 2: Golden Circle Highlights

Start at Hveragerði Geothermal Park & Bakery to see the Eilífur Geyser and taste hverabrauð, Icelandic rye bread baked using geothermal heat.

Next, visit Kerið Crater, a volcanic crater lake with blue-green water and red slopes.

Head to Gullfoss Waterfall, where the waters plunge into a rugged canyon.

Continue to the Haukadalur Geothermal Area to witness Strokkur Geyser erupting every few minutes.

End your day at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet and home to Iceland’s ancient parliament, Alþingi.

Before concluding the day, you have the option to relax at Hvammsvík Spa. Soak in the warm, mineral-rich waters while enjoying panoramic views. This experience includes entrance, towel and wading shoes rental, and a welcome drink. Please select this option during the booking process.
